The first game was The Atoms v Norwest, started great off to a huge lead of 5, but constantly chasing the puck with only 2 lines soon wore them down. Second period I think only one goal by us and 3 by them. Third period and were spent dragging our skates across the ice to see us finish second at full time. A great game by San saw him score a goal with our substitute goalie keeping us in the game, thanks Dylan.
No Peewee game this week so the Bantams were next against, Norwest. Again we started off ok ,sort of,but took them for granted, and by the end of the first period we were in front but not playing well. The second period after a few quiet words from the bench, and they had their act together, Third period, go home boys. I guess if you can win a game by such a big margin after playing worse than Atoms then you are lucky. There is no place for Bickering and backstabbing team mates, learn to play with who you have to, not who you want to..Statistics need not come in to the equation, it is a team sport, lets see how good 4 of you go against a team of 12. And fellas it was one goal, some of you were lucky to only get the penalties you got, arguing with the officials gets you where ? NOWHERE BUT THE BENCH. You are lucky to have a goalie next weekend. The sooner you learn to play ALL GAME as a team the better the results will be for all. Enough about that , train hard, take one game at a time, listen to your coaches and enjoy your hockey.
A big night for some at a farewell for James Hammond saw a few, a little worse for wear on sunday. At least the girls slowed down ( by lack of sleep ) and used the lack of energy to their advantage and played as a team . There was lots of passing, with a few attacking raids unlucky not to ruffle the nets. Get some sleep and better luck next time although I think you have a rather lengthy wait untill your next game.
The Titans up next with their ranks looking a little shell ( booze shot ) shocked. Obviously Toby, doubles as sampson, since Delilah cut his hair it sapped all his strength, coordination and the rest of his hockey with this not being one of his, or The Titans, better games.
Unfortunately James couldnt leave the country with a last game win under his belt, but with less than a minute of the game to go he created some of his own excitement with a belt and won that.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish James a sad farewell. His personality, reffereeing, coaching, playing experience, and general, nice guy attitude, will be sorely missed. James you are welcome back in our colours any time you like to return, thankyou for sharing with us.
