Atoms not only start the round, but continue their winning, in such a huge fashion , that you would think that there was no matching them. 18 TO 2, but, it was against Norwest’s third team. Dont get too cocky yet. Nice game all the same boys, yes, BUT a few passes like the Bantams and Cardinals games which still produced high positive scores, would be nicer and better watching. Lets see some more passes and more assists instead of just goals. A good game with a positive result, and all , came home smiling. Have some fun boys, and if you win a few games on the way and learn some hockey skills, even better.
Peewees not so lucky against Blacktown, although in the game in the first period, the other two, went against us, coming second, by 5.Still two players to come back, and boost your ranks yet. It is a long season with many wins coming your way soon.
Bantams, HIT OUT AGAIN and we certainly saw some hits, that’s why they call it contact. Bantams started strong, had a short lapse and then finished like a steam train, well done boys, a great bone jarring, grandstand jolting game, with some excellent teamwork in attack and some powerful defence, Dane and Steve, defending like they are 10feet tall, excellent to watch, glad I wasn’t on the opposition. Passing and positional play just great.
Cardinals, wasn’t sure what I should expect from these guys, but you never let me down, from the first drop of the puck, to the final hooter. For some old and big and supposedly past it guys, to the younger ones in the team, boys, the goals just kept on coming, never letting a chance go by, and making the most of any loose pucks. The Opposition certainly thought twice about going back on to face it again. Cardinals welcome them to Liverpool with a solid display of goal scoring and teamwork at its best. Its easy to watch when we keep winning games, well done.
Last again, The Titans, billed as a grudge match, where there was sure to be some niggling, maybe some altercations and most definetly a fight, with sent to the showers offences. Instead what happened, was a game from the start, where you rattled their cage, broke their door down and ran all over them to convincingly beat them 4 to 2, with the score making them look good. I thought this was Old Man Hockey ,which was what I was led to believe, let me tell you, the young guys, had their games cut out for them, just keeping up and trying to mix it with the skills of the masters of the game. As for penalties, we nearly missed the box all game, except some bloke, that lost a letter on his jersey, he was there more than once, having a chat with me. The Titans played all over Penrith, leaving them with no answer on many occasions. A torrid, pace, ( not James ) was set from the onset, never letting up. I had to take a step back, to get in all the action.
Looks like we need another reminder that ALL club colours are to be worn from your sox to your correct jersey. Boys and girls of SAINTS Hockey, multiple $ penalties, bench warming and even suspensions with a please explain until you play again, may happen. Lets not continue with this. Get it, and get it right away.
