The visiting Kelowna Midgets came to town & played our guys with a couple of extras. Moey got a jersey as did another ex SAINTS player Scott Clemie.Spencer Austin decided to have a run as well.
Unfortunately the scoreline didnt reflect the quality of the game & we were without a couple of key players & our boys just didnt seem to find their rhythm. The Canadians came to play & play they did, with a great display of international hockey being shown. Our boys started off with the traditional act of exchanging gifts as we handed them a SAINTS souvenir puck & drink bottle ( which worked out well for them as they had lost theirs )
The game was played in the spirit of competition with us unlucky not to score more goals & our goalie, thankful for only 50 shots on him, albeit all at the speed of light mixed with a Canadian bag of tricks.
An after game light meal & refreshments was put on by us, & the Canadians were overwhelmed & very thankful & appreciative of the gesture, saying that they hope to return the favour some time if we are ever there.
Food for thought for parents, coaches & future committees.
We told them our door was always open & look forward to future games. Another great night for the club & Ice Hockey in general
