On Mother’s Day, hope all the mums out their had a nice day , as your sons & daughters tried to bring you some Sunday morning enjoyment, albeit at zero degrees.
What a great way to start the day at home, with the Atom’s, scurrying over the ice like busy ants. Within no time at all their amazing defence turned to attack & in a matter of minutes we are in front 6/1. This woke The Emperors up & they replied with a couple of goals themselves. Our Atoms had enough Sunday morning cruising & picked it up a gear & proved luck had nothing to do with it, they contained their opposition & finished in style, in front & on top .Great game boys & girls, super effort from the goalies, congrats to Ryan & Leila great game.
Peewees next V RHINOS
Games don’t get much tighter with a closely contested battle all 3 periods, the game was ours though, right from the start, as we showed moments of brilliance in both attack & defence, from new & old players alike. A couple of great goals proving some practised team work, starting to show, but the defence was just brilliant. I cant believe the RHINOS scored at all ( neither can they ) let alone get 2 in. Some of the best defence I see every week, comes from The Atoms & then The Peewees, better ask The Dogs to come see some of your games, so you can show em how its done. Peewees victorious 4/2. Congrats to Emma, Jordan, Bayley & Jack great game.
Bantams V The Bears, now ( still at home , how good is this )
To say we started, a little slow, is an understatement, in fact, lets forget just about everything, everyone did, in the first period.
Second period, although the start wasn’t grea,t it was 100% better. Edgo stopped some shots that nobody saw, & then we turn defence into attack & Casey gets a hatrick, Emma decides that girls just don’t defend & nails a goal from just inside their zone.
The Bears start to panick as a shot hits the post & bounces out & our attack is coming together. Bears call time out, change tactics, reorganise & come out firing.Second period close, in fact we won the second period, but that wasn’t enough, as the first & third periods were definetly theirs. All in all , a good game, even in defeat. Improvements still need to be made, and each week there are signs of this happening slowly but surely.
A successful morning of hockey, all at the one place, home, is a good Sunday morning for a change.
