It was a great bonding session even though the weather could have been nicer. Next year we have to get the Big Cohuna on our side.

<trackback:ping>http://www.lccsaints.com.au/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=133&PortalID=0&TabID=77</trackback:ping>
Development Comp Format

After taking some advice from our friendly visiting Canadian, thanks Bill, we are proud to announce a new format for this year’s Development Comp.

<trackback:ping>http://www.lccsaints.com.au/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=132&PortalID=0&TabID=77</trackback:ping>
Summer Rego

Registration is now open for the Elite (Full Contact) comp and the Development (3 on 3) comp.

<trackback:ping>http://www.lccsaints.com.au/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=130&PortalID=0&TabID=77</trackback:ping>
The Benefits or being a LCC Ice Hockey Member

As the sport of ice hockey grows in Australia so does our intra club presence with new members. A slow start as they asked for some time since their goalie was running late.<u1:p></u1:p>

He arrived & it wasn’t long before we put him to the test, by the end of the first period he wished he was still in transit.<u1:p></u1:p>

Our Peewees showing their superiority 5 goals to nothing. The second period was scoreless as both teams had plenty of shots but the two goalies were tested & found worthy of the challenge. A second period shut out for both keepers.<u1:p></u1:p>

Third period was a different story with both sides showing some brilliance but our defence held strong as our goal was kept in tact. Peewees showed excellent passing in patches, with possession being in our favour just about all game, but in the end it was their defence ultimately that sealed their victory. Final score 9/0.<u1:p></u1:p>

Atoms were next to carve up the ice against the Rhinos from the Central Coast with a no holding back attitude being displayed from the face off. Again our defence was the saviour with another near perfect record. Our team work seems to shine in defence but falls apart in attack as we leave it up to the same few to score.

What I was impressed with was our new & younger Atoms now earing their keep as it were. I used to refer to them as kids , now I see them as Hockey players, well done.

Two victories in a row for two SAINTS teams. One more to go.<u1:p></u1:p>

Bantams up next , ready for action against The Eagles. We have had some close games with Canterbury before & today looked to be another, with one player out injured & our two A’s away. Coaches asked for everyone to step up & take them on from the start.<u1:p></u1:p>

The game was close with both goalies earning their keep , saving “lots of shots”, but then it was SAINTS first to score & with some of the best defence ALL morning as we scored again this time short handed. That was just what we needed as the game was a close tussle for the full 45 minutes, with some , if not all of our best players, being sent off, at one time or another, so the penalty kill line was used in different formats all game.<u1:p></u1:p>

Bantams finishing 4/1 .Three wins out of three games with this morning's effort defensive based.Whatever the coaches parents & players are doing seems to be working, so long as the players are having fun is the main concern.

<u1:p> </u1:p>

Taking overheard conversations from third hand unreliable sources as gospel & running a wild story based on that & that alone. For some THE SKY IS FALLING, & BREWING A STORM IN THEIR TEACUP.<u1:p></u1:p>

Currently we have the pleasure of hosting the hockey skills of the Nutter family from Canada. Never before has someone come to this club and in such a short time done so much, with little hope for long-term gain as they are only here for one year. Bill assists in coaching the Pee Wee's, Bantams, Women's and one of our senior teams, also assisting in our development program and playing for the seniors. We decided to ask Bill, and kindly the answer was yes, a few questions to get his take on hockey in Australia, how he is enjoying his stay here and anything else he cares to wax lyrical about!
